Prichard code enforcement officer charged with federal gun offense

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A Prichard code enforcement officer has been arrested on a federal gun charge and is a suspect in a rape investigation, according to court records.

A criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court charges Albert McCreary, 55, of Daphne, with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. He remains held at Mobile County Metro Jail, awaiting a hearing in federal court. Mobile County Personnel Board record show he has worked for the city of Prichard since September 2023.

According to the affidavit, investigators obtained a warrant for McCreary’s Chevrolet Tahoe as part of an investigation into a reported rape in Mobile County. The Mobile County Special Operations Unit pulled over the vehicle for a traffic violation.
