Police: 18-year-old arrested with fully automatic handgun following Evansville street fight

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — An 18-year-old is facing multiple charges, including a weapon felony, after police say they found him carrying a handgun modified to fire fully automatically during a traffic stop early Thursday morning.

Noah Gonzalez was arrested on Thursday, July 30, and faces the following charges:

  • Possession of a Machine Gun (Level 5 Felony)
  • Resisting Law Enforcement (Class A Misdemeanor)
  • Intimidation (Class A Misdemeanor) — 2 counts
  • Disorderly Conduct (Class B Misdemeanor)

According to an arrest affidavit, Evansville Police Department officers responded to the 1300 block of Ridgeway Avenue around 1:38 a.m. following reports of a street fight involving at least five teenagers. A caller informed dispatch that several individuals involved in the altercation had fled in a silver car with a broken passenger-side taillight.
