When the gates open for the Ventura County Fair next week, 27 Carpinteria High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) students will arrive with more than livestock in tow. They’ll bring months — and in some cases up to two years — of dedication, perseverance and hands-on learning that extends far beyond the show ring.
For Carpinteria FFA President Samantha McVee, this year’s delegation is a point of pride for a small-town program.
“Having 27 students represent Carpinteria FFA at the Ventura County Fair is something we’re incredibly proud of,” McVee said. “It reflects the dedication of our students, the support of their families and the strength of our agricultural education program.”…
