SAN FRANCISCO, CA — San Francisco police say a 33-year-old Reno man was arrested Tuesday after investigators linked him to the torture and killing of a kitten inside a Bank of America ATM vestibule on Market Street earlier this month.
Authorities identified the suspect as William Ohlson after a two-week investigation led by San Francisco Animal Care and Control with help from the San Francisco Police Department. Officers later found him at a nearby hotel, where the arrest turned into a rooftop operation.
The case has drawn attention because of both the violence described in the complaint and the unusual chain of events that followed as police moved in to take him into custody.
