WAIPAHU, Hawaii (Island News) — The suspect in an machete assault in the parking lot of a Waipahu supermarket on Monday evening is facing a criminal charge.
Honolulu Police Department (HPD) officers responded to a parking lot of Times Supermarket in Waipahu around 6 p.m. after a report of an assault. HPD said a 28-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by an man that was armed with a machete.
As a result of the alleged assault, the man was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. First responders did not report what condition the victim was in at the time of the incident…
