The Birmingham Zoo has postponed its popular Big Machine Petting Zoo because of the weather forecast.
The free outdoor event, originally scheduled for this weekend, will now take place Saturday, Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. until noon.
Visitors will have the chance to get an up-close look at a variety of large vehicles and equipment, including construction machinery from Thompson Tractor, fire trucks, police vehicles and other public safety equipment from Birmingham, Homewood and Jefferson County…
