LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — After years as a military spouse, going to library school at the University of Kentucky in her late 30s, and building a career helping others find their next great read, retirement seemed like the conclusion to Barbara Pace’s story. Instead, it became the beginning of a new chapter.
Pace serves as the honorary resident librarian at Cedarhurst of Hamburg, where she has transformed what was once a small collection of about 20 books into a community library with thousands of donated titles.
“I just love being here,” Pace said. “It’s like we’re sharing this in our family.”
