An unlicensed driver was arrested after he was caught behind the wheel of a car with a broken windshield in the Village of Fenney.
Javier Rodriguez Martinez, 25, of Leesburg, was driving a blue Toyota Corolla at about 12:30 p.m. July 28 near the intersection of Warm Springs Avenue and Morse Boulevard, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.
An officer on patrol noticed the car had a broken front windshield and air fresheners hanging from the rearview mirror, both of which were impairing the driver’s view. The officer initiated a traffic stop and asked for the driver’s credentials.
Martinez admitted he did not have a driver’s license and had no identification on him. A computer check through Sumter County Communications confirmed that Martinez had never been issued a driver’s license…
