REHOBOTH, Mass. (WJAR) — A Rehoboth teen who is studying to become a nurse at Rhode Island College is already thriving in one part of her life- owning a small business.
Skyla Perry, 19, said ever since she was little, she has always been baking.
“I have been baking ever since I can remember. I remember my grandmother would pick me up every Sunday and we would bake and cook for the family dinner, my mom was the one who started the ‘MiMi’s Sweet Treats’, she did chocolate dipped things before she decided to let me take over,” said Perry. “I’ve always had an interest in baking. It was always like an outlet for me. If I was mad, happy, sad, I was always baking. I was always in the kitchen.”
She said initially, she and her mom managed a stand on their front lawn, at 211 Providence St., for a few years…
