KFC’s New-Look Restaurant to Debut Soon

The first restaurant bearing the new “open-house” look from KFC (Plano, Texas) will open soon in the Dallas suburb of McKinney, Texas, and the “finger lickin’ good” chicken chain has also detailed its plans to take the concept into its largest markets. KFC first unveiled plans for the new look back in June, and parent company Yum! Brands Inc.’s just-released second quarter earnings results said it plans to roll out the updated concept and its related menu/beverage changes in its 20-largest global markets by the end of 2027.

The new-look KFCs will feature a front façade whose center incorporates an outline of the brand’s famous bucket with another, smaller bucket bearing a likeness of brand founder Col. Harland Sanders hanging above the entry doors. The brand is also updating its menu by putting more focus on boneless chicken and related sauces, and expanding its beverage offerings via KWENCH by KFC, which features boba fefreshers, krunch shakes, sparkling lemonades and iced coffees.

“In an increasingly crowded category, we have a clear opportunity to set the standard for modern chicken in QSR,” KFC Global CEO Scott Mezvinsky said in the June announcement. “This next chapter brings new energy and expression to what makes us iconic, while doubling down on our chicken and reimagining how fans experience KFC around the world.”…
