Fidelo’s Mexican Restaurant has been a beloved favorite on San Antonio’s Northeast Side for the last 20 years, so customers will be glad to know that the business is soon to receive a big upgrade in the form of a newer, larger location.
Rumors that Fidelo’s will be moving from its longtime home at 10929 Nacogdoches Road have been circulating online, and we can confirm that those whispers are true. MySA reached out to the restaurant by phone on Wednesday, July 29, and an employee shared that Fidelo’s will be relocating to a new location but was unable to say more. That being said, longtime customers do not have to worry about Fidelo’s moving far.
Down the street from the original Fidelo’s, multiple signs for the new location have been placed in front of a building at 10447 Nacogdoches Road. Sonia’s Restaurante Mexicano previously operated at this address, but it has since been taken over by construction. When MySA drove by the site, much of the building had been chipped away to set the stage for the incoming business.
A 2024 project filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation provided a few additional details about the remodeling of the new Fidelo’s location, including its 1,850 square footage and estimated construction costs of $350,000. MySA will continue to follow along as Fidelo’s Mexican Restaurant inches closer to relocating, but for now, locals can still visit the original restaurant, which has grown into a San Antonio staple for its homemade tortillas and its consistent Mexican comfort food…
