Fast-casual restaurant chain Teriyaki Madness started its Wichita run on the west side of town, opening a year ago at 3801 N. Ridge Road.
In about a week, the restaurant will add an east-side presence. The new restaurant at 344 N. Hillside will celebrate its grand opening on Friday, Aug. 7. That day, it will sell $6 chicken teriyaki bowls, and the first five people who order inside the restaurant will win free bowls for a year — which translates to 24 free-bowl vouchers given to winners via the restaurant’s rewards app. The next 20 people who order in-store will win four free-bowl vouchers.
Part of a Denver-based chain that has more than 200 locations nationwide, Teriyaki Madness arrived in Wichita courtesy of franchisee Johnny Steven, a local insurance company owner. It aims to appeal to a younger demographic looking for healthier restaurant meals. Its menu lists made-to-order bowls featuring teriyaki chicken, steak, salmon and tofu as well as orange chicken, chicken katsu and yakisoba.
Customers can choose to have their bowls made with white, brown or fried rice; stir-fried or steamed veggies; or noodles. The restaurant also offers appetizers such as chicken egg rolls, chicken pot stickers, crab Rangoon and edamame…
