St. Jude enrolls patients in trial for monthly HIV prevention pill

Researchers at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are enrolling participants in a clinical trial testing a once-monthly pill designed to prevent HIV, a potential new option they hope could improve access and adherence in a city that continues to see high rates of new infections.

Dr. Aditya Gaur, director of the Division of HIV and Translational Medicine at St. Jude, said Memphis is one of the areas hardest hit by HIV, particularly among young people.
