Jackson leaders consider ending parking meter contract

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Using parking meters to pay and go about your business should be simple, but some drivers said trying to pay the meters in downtown Jackson is difficult.

Jackson leaders are considering a possible change. An order that would allow Jackson Mayor John Horhn to terminate the parking meter contract with Metropolis is in the works. According to Councilman Ashby Foote, Ward 1, City Attorney Drew Martin informed the council that the contract may require the city to pay money to end the contract early.
