Small businesses in Mississippi find cheaper health insurance option through chamber plan

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Small businesses across Mississippi are facing new pressure to provide health coverage for workers as federal Affordable Care Act subsidies have ended and Medicaid is projected to lose nearly $1 trillion over the next decade under the One Big Beautiful Bill.

The Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership is pointing small business owners to an alternative: the Chamber Advantage Plan, a level-funded insurance option offered through UnitedHealthcare.

Who qualifies

Any business in Mississippi that is a member of its local chamber of commerce and employs between 2 and 50 people may qualify. Businesses must pass a healthcare census and then connect with a broker to select a plan.
