Semiconductor equipment manufacturer Lam Research has secured property tax exemptions for a long-planned expansion to its Tualatin campus, a project expected to bring $1.5 billion in spending by 2041 and 445 new research and engineering jobs to the suburban community.
The pending expansion represents a major win for Oregon’s semiconductor industry, which is at its lowest point in 15 years, and for the state’s beleaguered manufacturing sector.
