ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Asheville Police Department announced that it is investigating a fatal crash involving a pedestrian that occurred Monday night in west Asheville.
Officers said they responded to the 900 block of Patton Avenue to investigate a crash involving a pedestrian around 11:29 p.m. The preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrian, later identified as 62-year-old Linda Jean Johnson, was crossing the roadway from the eastbound side and was hit by a vehicle traveling West. Johnson was taken to Mission Hospital, where she later died.
