ASHEVILLE, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office announced that a man pleaded guilty on July 22 in a shooting near an Asheville apartment in 2025.
Elijah Paul Foster, 33, was sentenced to an active term of 165 to 210 months (about 13 to 17 years) for attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.
The charges stem from an incident on March 29, 2025, at the Hillcrest Apartments in Asheville. Officers with the Asheville Police Department responded to reports of a shooting near the 100 block of Atkinson Street, where they located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the hip.
