CINCINNATI (WKRC) — After another stretch of comfortable summer weather, the Tri-State is expected to see a significant shift this weekend as rounds of rain and thunderstorms bring the potential for flooding and a few strong storms.
Friday is expected to remain mostly dry, with increasing clouds, highs near 87 degrees and only a slight chance of an evening sprinkle.
The greatest weather impacts are expected Saturday as a slow-moving area of low pressure moves into the region. Periods of rain and thunderstorms are likely throughout the day, with some storms capable of producing heavy rainfall, gusty winds and frequent lightning. While there is a Level 1 out of 5 (marginal) risk for severe weather, the greater concern is flooding due to slow-moving storms.
Some locations could receive 1 to 3 inches of rain, with isolated areas picking up more than 3 inches by the end of the weekend. The heaviest rain is expected from Saturday morning through early evening, though rain chances should gradually diminish later Saturday night.
