Retired Charlotte County deputy cleared criminally in fatal shooting but found to violate policy

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla.

The State Attorney’s Office determined on June 30 that there was no violation of the law in the case involving a Charlotte County deputy who shot and killed a man during a confrontation along Saxony Circle in Deep Creek in September 2025.
