DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — The Lower Paxton Township Bureau of Police is mourning after an officer died this week from a medical emergency while he was in South Carolina, the department announced Friday on social media.
The department said in its post, Patrolman First Class Douglas Fisher was serving on military orders when he passed during the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 29.
Fisher had a decorated military career in the United States Army Reserve, the post reads. He held command and leadership assignments like Brigade Commander of the 2nd Brigade, 87th Training Division; Mobilization Chief at TRADOC; Battalion Commander of the 1st Battalion, 311th Training Support Battalion; Commander of the 3rd Battalion, 329th Regiment; Chief Observer Coach/Trainer for the 3rd Brigade, Atlantic Training Division; Exercise Project Officer; and Detachment S-3 with the 75th Training Command.
