A California man faces federal charges after allegedly sending threatening messages to the mother of a key witness in the disappearance and death of 18-year-old Nolan Wells.
Joseph Alfredo Vasquez Dumarce, 27, of Sacramento, was arrested Thursday and charged with interstate transmission of a threatening communication. Federal investigators traced the online harassment to Dumarce using the email address linked to his Facebook account. If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Court documents state Dumarce targeted Jackson County Chancery Judge Ashlei Cole, whose son, Warren Hudson, was among the friends with Wells on Horn Island during a July 4 outing. Dumarce allegedly sent Cole threats via Facebook Messenger that included photos of her children, writing in one message that a package coming to her office would “blow you away.”…
