See rainfall totals in your area after Kansas City is soaked by quick-hitting downpours

Downpours from fast-moving storms drenched the Kansas City area early Friday, with multiple inches of rain falling in a short time.

The heaviest rains fell on the Kansas side of the metro, with nearly three inches of rain falling in the six hours ending at 9 a.m. Friday. The bulk of the rain fell before the start of the morning commute, as the storms began to move out of the metro.

The rains prompted the National Weather Service to issue flood warnings for Johnson County, southwestern Leavenworth County, Wyandotte County, southwestern Clay County and southern Platte County…
