TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Animal Services is waiving adoption fees for all dogs and cats throughout August as the shelter works to reduce overcrowding and place hundreds of animals into permanent homes.
Officials said every adopted pet will still receive the same services included with a standard adoption, despite the waived fee.
Shelter works to reduce overcrowding
The month-long adoption campaign comes as Tulsa Animal Services continues caring for hundreds of dogs and cats while searching for more families willing to adopt.
Officials hope eliminating adoption fees throughout August will encourage more people to bring home a shelter pet.
What adopters will receive
Although adoption fees are being waived, each eligible pet will still go home with:
- Spay or neuter surgery
- Vaccinations
- A microchip
- Heart-worm preventative
