MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A 13-year-old boy was hurt, and a 17-year-old was arrested after a shooting broke out inside Wheaton Mall on Friday, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD).
Police said officers responded at 6 p.m. to reports of a shooting at Wheaton Mall in the 1100 block of Veirs Mill Road.

There, the boy was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the 17-year-old suspect ran into Dick’s Sporting Goods and was apprehended by an armed security guard. A handgun was also recovered.
