Dick Russell’s BBQ sets estate sale — how to own a part of Mobile history

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The beloved Dick Russell’s BBQ restaurant in Tillman’s Corner is selling pieces of its 45-year history for its estate sale.

The restaurant announced its closure in mid-July after 45 years in business. Its Tillman’s Corner location has been part of the community since the 1980s.

Former office manager Stephanie Chestnut said people were already waiting in the parking lot Friday morning to buy items.

“We know a lot of people in our community wanted pieces,” Chestnut said. “We’ve got people that want to take a chair home just because they remember sitting in it when they were a kid.”…
