COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Foster care and international adoptions have declined in recent years, according to the National Council for Adoption. A local childcare agency says the shift reflects a growing emphasis on keeping children with their families.
Hope and Home, a foster care agency, works to place children who are in abusive or potentially dangerous situations with families equipped to care for them.
“So we recruit, train, and support foster and adoptive families to take care of children in the child welfare system,” said Jacquelyn Wright, clinical director at Hope and Home.
