Whiskers has spent nearly a century in Albany. The organization said it made the decision to move to a new facility in order to adapt to the region’s changing animal welfare needs.
“Our new home located in Latham will offer Whiskers the chance to advance our care for animals in need with new and increased services,” the rescue said.
Whiskers’ new home will be located on Albany Shaker Road. Its additional services will include on-site surgeries and spay and neuter procedures; expanded medical rooms, including separate rooms for feline leukemia, FIV and special needs cats; educational programming; more adoption events and community engagement activities; and more.
