Beloved cookie shop to close Morris County location as ingredient costs surge

The Cookie Connect will close its Morristown location on Friday, Aug. 28, after nearly five years there, the business announced on Instagram.

The closure comes as the bakery faces significant cost increases while trying to maintain its commitment to premium ingredients and handcrafted cookies. The company’s other locations in Bloomfield, Hoboken and Ridgewood will remain open.

According to the announcement, the cost of 25 pounds of the high-quality chocolate the business uses has more than doubled in the last 12 months, rising from around $230 a year ago to approximately $480 today…
