Gunfire hits 4 vehicles, apartments in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh police are searching for multiple suspects after a burst of overnight gunfire damaged several vehicles and occupied apartment buildings, prompting a large investigation into the late night shooting.

Authorities said the incident unfolded late Friday in the city’s Hill District after officers were alerted to dozens of gunshots. Investigators believe the shooting began after a resident confronted several people who were allegedly attempting to break into or search through a vehicle.

Although numerous bullets struck property, officials said no injuries were reported. Detectives continue to examine evidence as they work to identify those responsible.
