August 2 Weather Rain And Thunderstorms From The West And Start Of Maryland Trek 13

August 2 Sunday Morning Report

We’ve entered a muggy pattern thanks to a closed-off and stalled Low in the Ohio Valley. This is pumping in moisture, already dropping rain across the Western Maryland Mountains. This will spread showers eastward towards Central Maryland during the day and develop thunderstorms this afternoon and overnight. Farther east may escape the wet weather until much later and tomorrow.

There is a Flood Watch in Western Maryland, including where my Maryland Trek team will be hiking and biking today. Rainfall may reach 1 to 2 inches across the mountains with some local spots up to 4 inches. A Coastal Flood Advisory for Anne Arundel County is for higher High Tides.
