Jacksonville Hero Dog Donates Blood To Save Anemic Pup — Now He Needs A Home

Andres has already done more than most shelter dogs ever will. The Jacksonville shelter dog donated 200 milliliters of blood to help another dog suffering from severe anemia, and now he is hoping for a lifesaving family of his own.

Animal Care & Protective Services introduced Andres as its Dog of the Week in a Saturday update, identifying him by shelter number A1481185 and describing him as a life saver, according to the city’s Facebook post. The donation, ACPS said, gave the other dog a fighting chance.
