BAY MINETTE, Ala. — (WKRG) People in Baldwin County are looking back on the legacy of a beloved restaurant in Bay Minette. Fire destroyed Street’s Restaurant on Highway 59 Saturday. The owner wants people to share their memories of this decades-old place.
Sunday morning, the normal post-church lunch crowd is gone. Cars are replaced by a wrecked building and yellow caution tape.
“Our whole family worked there and helped. Everybody wanted it to succeed. We have employees that dedicated their lives to Street’s and and loved it just as much as we did,” said the owner’s daughter, Leigh Johnson Overstreet.
