DES MOINES, Iowa — Corn dogs, cotton candy and trips down the Giant Slide may get plenty of attention, but some of the best experiences for kids at the Iowa State Fair do not cost anything at all.
The 2026 Fair will give young visitors plenty of ways to laugh, explore, and learn, from meeting baby animals to picking vegetables and seeing Iowa agriculture up close.
Kids can begin their adventure at the Paul R. Knapp Animal Learning Center, where baby goats, ducklings and other young animals will be waiting. Daily Farmer Chats will also give children a chance to meet Iowa farmers and ask questions about life on the farm…
