Amid national blood shortage, Junction City to host blood drive

The American Red Cross declared its second-ever national blood supply crisis, July 27, after blood donations fell to a four-year summer low, limiting the distribution of the most commonly transfused blood, type O blood, to hospitals.

Lane County residents can roll up their sleeves and donate blood Friday, Aug. 7, at a drive hosted by the American Red Cross and Junction City High School Leadership.
