Downtown Cleveland crime is falling. Why doesn’t everyone feel safer?

CLEVELAND, Ohio — By the most readily available measurements, downtown Cleveland is becoming safer.

Reported offenses in downtown have declined by about 43% during the first half of the year compared with the same period in 2023, according to the Cleveland Crime Incident dashboard.
