After 25 years of service in Lubbock, Nora’s Mexican Restaurant (417 Frankford Ave) has closed permanently, according to a post from the restaurant on Facebook. Nora’s was originally located on 4102 34th St but moved to the Frankford location in 2023.
Why Is Nora’s Mexican Restaurant Closing?
The reasoning behind the closure isn’t exactly spelled out, but this was the reason given:
Due to unforeseen changes and after many prayers and many tears, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to close our restaurant. It was not a decision we wanted to make, but one we knew we had to make. At this moment, our family’s well-being must come before everything else.
It could have been personal or economic reasons, or a combination of both. Owning and operating a restaurant is a demanding and exhausting endeavour even in the best circumstances. With high supply costs and consumers with less to spend, it’s extremely difficult to own a restaurant in 2026.
