A red flag warning is in effect for much of central Lane County —including Eugene, Springfield, and Cottage Grove — until 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3. Meanwhile, smoke from wildfires east of the Cascade is drifting into the southern Willamette Valley; the smoky conditions are expected to worsen overnight.
