MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — Two new tuition-free charter schools are opening in Myrtle Beach.
Morning Star Academy and South Carolina Construction Academy have a shared campus.
- Morning Star Academy is a Kindergarten through 8th grade school that offers STEAM-infused learning in a play-based environment.
- The South Carolina Construction Academy is a high school for grades nine through 12.
In addition to a regular high school diploma, students can follow a trade path in areas including electrical, plumbing or carpentry.
“Students that start with us at the K8 side can go right into our high school side, and we have a very collaborative relationship. For example, if our students are studying plant life in the K8, our high school students will build the garden beds for them.
