SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — More than 1,400 orders for protection have been filed in Minnehaha and Lincoln counties for fiscal year 2026.
Nyasan Chagi filed such a petition. Chagi filed the order against Yien Chiek. Court documents allege that Chiek, an ex-partner, stabbed and killed Chagi on Friday, July 31, in Sioux Falls. Chagi filed an order for protection the day before.
