(KRON) — Firefighters responded to a house fire in Walnut Creek on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District. A call about the fire came in around 3:39 p.m. at a home on the 700 block of Woodwind Place.
Two dogs died from the fire, and one person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. It was not clear whether or not the individual was a resident of the burning home or a neighbor.
About an hour after fire crews received the call at 4:30 p.m., the fire was knocked down.
