CLEVELAND — At the Cuyahoga County Administrative Headquarters, the resolution to put the position of sheriff back on the ballot was pulled from Tuesday’s agenda by Council member Martin Sweeney. The resolution needed at least two-thirds or eight of the council’s 11 members to vote “yes” to pass and Sweeney did not think the resolution would have enough “yes” votes.
The resolution was initially proposed and sponsored by Sweeney and received backlash from County Executive Chris Ronayne, who wants the position to remain appointed.
