CEDAR CITY, Utah (ABC4) — A University of Utah student has been sentenced to less than a year of jail time and probation for sending a 16-year-old girl money in exchange for sexually explicit images and videos.
In April, 31-year-old Sergio Yahir Cruz Fajardo was arrested and charged with 12 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, a second-degree felony. He pleaded guilty to two of those charges on June 3, and the remaining 10 were dismissed with prejudice as part of a plea agreement.
On Wednesday, a Fifth District Court judge handed down a sentence to Cruz Fajardo. He was sentenced to two terms of 1 to 15 years at the Utah State Prison. However, those sentences were suspended…
