SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — In a 5-1 vote Aug. 4, Sandy Springs City Council members approved the city’s transportation master plan, which outlines $280 million in investment projects over the next 10 years.
Funding for the plan relies largely on recurring Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or TSPLOST, collections. At the Tuesday council meeting, city staff members said Sandy Springs has benefited from around $200 million in TSPLOST collections since the tax began in 2017.
Fulton County residents outside of the city of Atlanta will vote in November on continuing the tax with a third iteration. If approved, that TSPLOST is estimated to bring in $129 million to Sandy Springs by 2032…
