SUNSET PARK, Brooklyn (PIX11) — Residents are raising concerns about the amount of garbage piling up in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park, bringing foul odors and a growing rat problem.
“I can smell it as soon as I get out of the pool,” said one parkgoer. “It’s nasty.”
Piles of black trash bags and raw garbage are scattered throughout the park, alongside discarded household items, including a steel garbage can. David, a parkgoer, said the trash has become an unwelcome sight.

“It’s piling up at the end of the entrances, which is really a bad welcoming entrance for people to Sunset Park,” he said. “First thing they’re seeing is garbage.”…
