COLUMBIA, SC — The Richland County Coroner’s Office has identified the man killed in a fatal crash early Sunday on Trotter Road in Columbia. Officials said 58-year-old Jose Nunez, of Columbia, was the driver.
Coroner Naida Rutherford said her office is working with the South Carolina Highway Patrol as the investigation continues.
Crash Details
Authorities said the wreck happened around 1:09 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Trotter Road and Crestmore Drive. According to investigators, Nunez was driving east when his car left the left side of the roadway.
The vehicle struck a tree, a culvert and a power pole before overturning. Nunez was pronounced dead at the scene.
Victim Identified
The coroner’s office said Nunez was the only person identified in the crash report released so far. No other injuries were mentioned in the information provided by authorities…
