Out of Control Tesla Crashes Into Multiple Orange County Homes Overnight

A quiet townhome community in Orange, California got a rude awakening just before midnight when a Tesla came flying off East Chapman Avenue, sailed through a concrete wall roughly 20 feet above the neighborhood, and landed in the middle of the street below. By the time the dust settled, four townhomes had sustained damage and the driver was on the way to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to Eyewitness News reporter Tim Caputo, who was on scene shortly after the crash, the Tesla tore through trees and bushes on its way down the embankment before smashing into the side of a garage. Debris scattered across the block, with small chunks of concrete and other projectiles striking windows on several nearby homes. Caputo described the scene as looking like an explosion had gone off.

The good news, and there is some here, is that everyone inside the affected homes made it out unscathed. Considering the car came down through a residential neighborhood while most folks were fast asleep, that is nothing short of fortunate. The driver was not so lucky and had to be taken to the hospital for treatment…
