Barrio Burrito Bar Digs Into Ocoee, Plots Six-Store Florida Expansion

A storefront inside Ocoee’s Silver Crossings Shopping Center is under construction at 1720 E. Silver Star Road, Unit A-108, where Barrio Burrito Bar plans to open a fast-paced Tex-Mex restaurant known for made-to-order burritos, bowls, tacos and quesadillas. The Canadian-based chain’s Ocoee outpost sits near the intersection of Silver Star Road and Clarke Road, in a corridor that has already seen its share of restaurant turnover.

The West Orange Times & Observer reports that the chain has not set a formal grand opening date for the Ocoee store. That contrasts with what franchisee Karan Amin has told Business Debut, which reports he’s targeting a soft opening in August followed by a formal grand opening in September. Per that same outlet, the Ocoee menu will let customers customize burritos, bowls, tacos and quesadillas, plus loaded sides like extreme fries, nachos and several styles of churros.

The Barrio Burrito Bar space sits inside the 70,878-square-foot Silver Crossings Shopping Center, a neighborhood retail plaza anchored by a Publix supermarket, according to TCII Capital Group. Amin is treating the Ocoee store as one piece of a broader push into Central Florida. Business Debut reports he intends to open at least six Barrio Burrito Bar locations across the state over three years, with four already in his pipeline, including a planned site at Loughman Crossing in Davenport.
