Despite Mayor Danny Avula and city officials warning against the Richmond Ambulance Authority fielding medical 911 calls again, City Council reassigned the job back to RAA.
City Council voted on June 8 to give the city 30 days to hand the duties to the authority. The Department of Emergency Communications, Preparedness, and Response started transferring the calls on the morning of July 27.
“Our agency is fully prepared to resume processing emergency medical calls, and we look forward to continuing to work together to provide the best service possible to the community,” RAA CEO Chip Decker said in a statement…
