Storm Team 3: Storms likely Thursday through Sunday, heavy weekend rain

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A drier pattern compared to earlier in the week developed for Wednesday afternoon. That helped afternoon high temperatures to warm into the lower to middle 90s.

However, a wetter and more typical pattern will develop for Thursday through the weekend.

Thursday morning will begin partly cloudy, warm, and humid with low temperatures in the middle 70s. Cloud cover is expected to increase through the morning, and a few spotty showers are possible before lunchtime.

Scattered showers and storms are expected to become more widespread by the mid-afternoon, continuing into the early evening. There is potential for some pockets of heavy rain developing. Rainfall rates may be over an inch per hour…
